NAPIER: New Zealand dominated the proceedings of the first day of Napier Test with 47 without loss at stumps before getting Pakistan all out in first innings for 223 total.Imran Farhat lifted Pakistan from the depths of 59 for 5 with a fighting century but New Zealand.
On a flat pitch, Iain O'Brien starred with a four-wicket haul in his last Test but Farhat refused to fade away without a fight. He shared a 35-run stand with Umar Gul but Darryl Tuffey broke through after tea with a triple strike; he terminated Gul's defiance and removed Mohammad Asif for a first-ball duck before he took out the enterprising Danish Kaneria.
Tuffey and Iain O'Brien grabbed four wickets each.
